2 Moment Factory Projects Recognized with International Frame Awards

February 28, 2018

Two Moment Factory projects, a Tabegami Sama installation and restaurant in Tokyo and Arcade Fire’s Infinite Content tour, received Frame awards at a recent ceremony in Amsterdam.

Tabegami Sama, a multisensory foodie experience created in Tokyo, won both the People’s Choice and Jury Prize awards for Best Use of Digital Technology in the Execution category. Arcade Fire’s Infinite Content tour took the People’s Choice distinction for Set Design of the Year.

Tabegami Sama was created to offer an immersive engagement with Japan’s culinary traditions. Collaborating with Sony, Kirinzi and Prism, the project used innovative storytelling to enhance a memorable culinary experience.

This interactive installation took visitors on a journey exploring the traditional, seasonal and local cuisine known as Washoku before leading them to their final culinary destination, an ephemeral restaurant. The result was a poetic interpretation of Japanese legends with a strong relationship to the Japanese food culture.

For the Arcade Fire Infinite Content tour, Moment Fire worked in close collaboration with the band on a 360˚ approach that included creative direction, stage design and original video content for both their arena and festival tours.

Turnkey concepts for both tours were conceived to frame performances that offered fans an intimate yet powerful experience. For the festival tour Moment Factory developed a “smoke box,” a self-contained scenography of illusive projection spaces. The arena tour was staged in-the-round with a boxing ring to blend the adrenaline of a fight, the epic energy of a concert and the high-concept playfulness for which Arcade Fire is known.

The world’s best interiors and designers were honoured at the Frame Awards Show on February 21. The awards presentation took place during Frame Lab: The Next Space, a two-day blend of talks, multisensory exhibitions and workshops.
