ArkbyReno: Design Forward, Performance Driven

By: John Kerr

ArkbyReno’s new digital platform positions Reno Lighting squarely in the architectural conversation, giving architects, lighting designers, and interior designers a project-focused way to explore performance, aesthetics, and atmosphere in one place. Designed as a North American, bilingual destination, the site extends the Ark collection’s brand promise “Illuminated by Design” into an interactive, specification-ready experience.

A Site Built for Specifiers

ArkbyReno is presented as the dedicated architectural division of Reno Lighting, with the site structured around how design professionals actually move through a project from concept and mood, to performance criteria, to specification detail. The platform emphasizes high-performance LED architectural luminaires for both interior and exterior applications, reflecting Reno’s focus on aesthetics, energy efficiency, and compliance with North American standards and listings.

Navigation and product organization are clean and minimal, with clear pathways into families, applications, and resources that support design development and documentation. Spec-grade users will recognize the emphasis on reliability and long life, with each Ark product framed as part of a cohesive toolkit for shaping space, rather than a standalone SKU.

Noir: Seeing CCT as a Design Tool

Within the portfolio, the Noir line is positioned as an architectural luminaire for interior environments where visual comfort, mood, and material rendering are critical. Its dedicated product environment on the site goes beyond static photography and spec sheets to show how shifts in correlated color temperature (CCT) change the perceived character of a room.

As users scroll the Noir page, they can move through different color temperature presets and see how finishes, surfaces, and overall ambiance transform with each setting. This interactive presentation of CCT effectively turns a technical parameter into a tangible design variable, supporting conversations with clients and project stakeholders who may not be fluent in lighting metrics but immediately understand visual change on screen.

From Data to Design Narrative

The ArkbyReno experience is clearly built to bridge the gap between engineering data and design narrative for the specifier audience. Products in the Ark family highlight optical control, lumen performance, and energy efficiency, while still foregrounding form, integration, and application imagery that show how fixtures live in real spaces.

For lighting designers and electrical engineers, the site reinforces key performance attributes and quality markers that support code compliance and program requirements. For architects and interior designers, the visuals, collections, and interactive tools such as Noir’s temperature-range experience support early design discussions, mood boards, and client presentations.

North American & Bilingual Positioning

ArkbyReno is explicitly framed as a North American architectural lighting resource, complementing Reno Lighting’s established presence as a regional manufacturer of energy-efficient luminaires. This positioning is reinforced through spec-focused content, application language, and alignment with familiar North American performance expectations.

The platform is also bilingual, reflecting Reno’s Canadian roots and the realities of practice across English and French markets. For firms working nationally or across borders, this supports smoother internal communication and client-facing documentation while keeping the design story consistent across languages.

A Digital Tool for Design Workflow

Taken as a whole, the new ArkbyReno site functions less like a static catalogue and more like a digital design tool for the specification community. By combining application imagery, interactive experiences like Noir’s CCT exploration, and clear, spec-ready product organization, it gives architects, lighting designers, and interior designers a way to move seamlessly from inspiration to implementation within a single environment.
