A recent lighting retrofit at Cambridge Centre Mall in Cambridge, Ontario demonstrates how the right LED solution can improve performance, simplify installation, and keep a project on budget. Working with Conestogo Electric Ltd., the project replaced outdated metal halide fixtures throughout the mall’s parking lot with CSC LED FL05 Area Lights mounted on the existing poles using their Fixed Mounts. With two fixtures installed per pole, the updated system provides improved, uniform illumination while making use of the infrastructure already in place.
Located at the mouth of the Biigtig Zibi (Pic River) along the shores of Chi-Gaam (Lake Superior) near Marathon, Ontario, the Biigtigong Nishnaabeg Arbour is envisioned as a lasting community gathering place. Designed to honour tradition while creating a welcoming space for future generations, the Arbour serves as the heart of cultural celebrations, intergenerational dancing, and community events. The project was completed through a collaboration between Biigtigong Nishnaabeg, the Pic River Development Corporation, local builders, and Serino Architects, whose culturally sensitive design reflects the community’s connection to the land.
Established in 1870 by Richard Hemsley, Hemsleys Jewellers is the oldest jewellery store in Canada. A family-owned business established over 150 years ago. Hemsleys has been serving Montreal communities for generations. It is well known within the luxury gemstone industry that lighting plays an integral role in preserving the visual authenticity of precious stones and gems. This is why most jewelers pay very special attention to each type of lighting they include in their stores and displays. The wrong color spectrum can make some stones flash while muting the color intensity of others. Having the expert knowledge and the inventory to accommodate industry-specific needs, Stanpro was mandated for Hemsleys’ newest renovations. The scope of this project included redoing the ceilings and cabinet lights while making sure to include lighting fixtures that have large color spectrums that are customizable, easy to change, and reliable.
The newly opened Hagersville Library + Active Living Centre brings together community, learning, and wellness within a flexible, multi-use environment. The facility includes a 3,900-sf library, 2,000 sf atrium, 840 sf program room, and a 4,855 sf multi-functional rental space designed to support a wide range of activities. Axis Lighting’s Zen series was selected to deliver clean, comfortable illumination throughout the space. Featuring SurroundLite optics, Zen provides soft, evenly diffused light with excellent glare control, enhancing visual comfort for reading, collaboration, and community use.
In the heart of Simon Fraser University’s Student Union Building, The Study Public House brings a new kind of energy to campus life in Burnaby, BC. Completed around 2019, this vibrant “barcade” concept was designed to shift with the day, moving effortlessly from casual hangouts and intimate dining to lively nightlife. Warm, welcoming, and full of colour, the 5,800 sq. ft. renovation invites students, staff, and locals to settle in, stay awhile, and come back again.

Designed for versatility, the space is equipped with durable, evenly distributed fixtures that ensure optimal visibility and comfort—ideal for exhibitions, events, and large gatherings. The clean, polished interior and advanced lighting layout create a modern, functional setting ready to adapt to any event need.
Reviving a story that already exists is a compelling undertaking, especially if that story is steeped in nostalgia and reinvention. The Flamingo Project in Surrey, BC draws inspiration from the original Flamingo Hotel that once stood in the same spot. It was a mid-century modern destination that opened in 1955. Once known as a stylish place for a Friday night dinner, the hotel eventually faded with time and into disrepair. Its spirit, however, lives on in this new interpretation.
NoFrills is one of Canada’s major grocery store chains, known for its affordable price and direct retail approach. The company operates under Loblaw Companies Limited, Canada’s largest food and pharmacy retailer. When NoFrills opened its new location in Komoka, Ontario, the store made an immediate impression. The new architecture and exterior design caught the community’s attention right away. Bold colour, cleaner geometry, and a visual confidence that felt fresh against the familiar brand generated genuine excitement from shoppers and residents alike.

This project aimed to preserve AG Hair’s modern, minimalist aesthetic while incorporating practical solutions that elevate both function and style. Axis Lighting’s Sculpt, recessed and suspended in linear runs, provides visually comfortable illumination throughout the space, particularly in work areas where quality light is essential. Their clean, refined profile complements AG Hair’s fashion-forward atmosphere, blending seamlessly into the architecture without compromising the high-end aesthetic the brand is known for.
This installation exemplifies the versatility of Eralux Titan Elite, enabling the Curling club to cater to various needs such as general play, broadcast, and ice maintenance. The individual control of fixtures offers the flexibility to optimize ice coverage effectively. Moreover, the Eralux Titan Elite high bay, featuring rotating lenses, illuminates all areas, including dark corners, and enhances visibility of the scoreboard. With this lighting solution, the Curling club now possesses a sophisticated lighting control system, transforming it into a versatile venue capable of hosting diverse events.

When lighting is done right, you often don’t notice it — it just feels right. That was the case in the SDA (Seventh Day Adventist Church) office, designed by Site Lines Architecture. The goal was simple: create a space where natural wood and DLT [Dowel Laminated Timber] ceilings take centre stage, and the lighting quietly enhances the architecture without calling attention to itself. The Sidney Centre for Plant Health (SCPH) represents a major step forward in Canada’s commitment to safeguarding plant health. As the country’s only post‑entry quarantine, diagnostic, and research facility for imported plant material, the new 59,460 sq.ft building replaces aging structures dating back over a century, providing a modern, efficient, and future‑ready home for critical scientific work. Mac’s II Agencies supported the project through a fully integrated approach, bringing together lighting, electrical, and power solutions.
