PwC Toronto: Salex’s Lighting Project Embodies a People-First Design Philosophy Where Lighting, Acoustics & Architectural Details Work Seamlessly Together

Salex worked with Mulvey & Banani and M Moser Associates to support PwC’s Toronto office transformation. The project focused on adaptability, sustainability, and human-centric design, creating a workplace that emphasizes flexibility and wellbeing.

The space includes open lounges, multi-purpose collaboration areas, and flexible event zones that encourage social interaction while maintaining acoustic and visual comfort. Natural materials, warm tones, and colours aligned with PwC’s brand identity create a cohesive and welcoming environment that reflects their modern corporate culture.

The custom Viso fixture serves as a focal point in the open café and lounge area, creating a visually striking centerpiece. Custom Viso globes were also used in corridors and open collaboration zones to add warmth and visual consistency.

To highlight the office’s artwork and enhance circulation areas, ERCO Parscan track lighting was used throughout the office, including the hallways, for its precision, flexibility, and clean aesthetic. Above workstations, Lumenwerx Squero Acoustix fixtures combine illumination with acoustic control, enhancing comfort in the open-concept environment. Lumenwerx Aera 3 and 4 cylinders and downlights provide functional, uniform light throughout the office, while Lumenwerx Via 3 fixtures were installed in boardrooms for clean, continuous linear illumination that supports focus and visual clarity.

The completed PwC Toronto office embodies a people-first design philosophy where lighting, acoustics, and architectural details work seamlessly together to create a dynamic and refined environment. The design merges artistry with functionality, fostering warmth and connection throughout the space, and was recognized with an IES Illumination Award in Toronto.
