Calabro was one of five business personalities and 10 businesses honoured by the Saint-Laurent-Mont-Royal Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Gala Alpha 2016. The event brought together 350 people to celebrate the vitality and business excellence in the region.

LumiGroup, founded by Calabro in 1995, is Quebec’s largest lighting agency. In 2015, LumiGroup, was listed by Canadian PROFIT magazine as one of the top 500 Canadian companies experiencing the strongest growth over the past five years (Photo: Jean-Claude Calabro, centre, with his team).

The business represents a vast number of lighting manufacturers from Quebec and around the world, exhibited in a 10,000 square foot showroom in the heart of Montreal’s Mile End artistic district.

Jean-Claude Calabro has also been a finalist of the Université de Montréal business program’s Entrepreneur of the Year award. A second-generation electrician, he started his agency in 1995. Calabro is certified by IESNA (Illuminating Engineering Society of North America) and is LC (Lighting Certified) with NCQLP (National Council on Qualification for the Lighting Professions), one of the few people in North America with this accreditation.
