EVRYTHNG and Gooee to Collaborate on Global Sensory Network Platform

Internet Of Things

EVRYTHNG, the Internet of Things (IoT) smart products platform, has announced a strategic partnership with Gooee, an IoT technology company specializing in systems integration for the LED lighting value chain. The two firms aim to build a global sensory network platform and become the “operating system for smart connected lighting.” The platform has the potential to reduce the cost of energy and maintenance in LED lighting.

“A ‘perfect storm’ of opportunity exists across both the LED lighting and IoT sectors,” says Gooee. “LED lighting is going through a massive global infrastructure change from the traditional legacy technologies to newer solid-state lighting-based products…The ubiquity of lighting in homes, enterprises, industrial facilities and retail locations also makes it the perfect platform for the IoT.”

Gooee supplies smart LED light engines, sensing optics and communications hardware to deliver multiple business applications with mass-market reach. The light engines feature patented sensory, two-way communication capabilities and are compatible with a variety of lighting, control and smart systems. (For more on Gooee, see “Aurora Lighting Licenses Gooee’s Operating System” elsewhere in this issue.)

EVRYTHNG’s IoT smart product Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) manages and operates intelligent digital identities for products on the Web on an industrial scale. This makes it possible to control products, operate applications driven by real-time information and connect products into the broader digital ecosystem.

The EVRYTHNG platform will enable Gooee to operate tens of millions of intelligent light endpoints in a global network. It also allows it to manage and analyze the huge volumes of data that flow from and around these products, and drive and connect with a wide array of applications.

“Lighting as a ubiquitous and smart sensory platform is an incredibly powerful opportunity and application driver for realizing the potential of the Internet of Things,” says Niall Murphy, CEO at EVRYTHNG.
