Lumentruss Case Study: The Honeyrose Hotel’s Beautiful Redesign

May 30, 2024

A unique example of intimate spaces created using Lumentruss products at the Honeyrose Hotel.

HONEYROSE Hotel, Montreal, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel. The beautifully inspired Art Deco boutique hotel located in the heart of Montreal is an exemplary demonstration of integrating layers of light into the architectural design to bring the architecture to life. This stunning hotel was conceived through the collaboration of many talented individuals to produce a destination for locals and travelers alike. The design team created warmth and ambiance in the space by adding layers of light to call attention to the beautiful forms and natural materials in the space. These accents were achieved with a broad selection of custom low-voltage lighting solutions from Lumentruss and by applying a consistent array of warmer 2400K and 2700K color temperatures.

Starting with the Honeyrose Hotel lobby we are drawn in with the beautifully lit wood panels to create a coffered ceiling effect. This was achieved with the use of the Lumentruss slim 1100 series aluminum channel around each of the panels. The grand curved staircase is accented with light on both sides with the help of the flexible Mini Side Flex channel, providing both safety and design elements.

The curved bar also incorporated the same flexible channel to highlight the woodwork above and under the counters. The Lumentruss 1300 series recessed channel was integrated into the millwork to light the shelves in the coffee bar and boutique. In addition, we see illuminated coves and indirect lighting appear throughout the hotel with the use of the Lumentruss 1100 and 1200 series of small channels integrated into the architecture, adding to the magnificence of the project.

The many layers of lighting accents perfectly accentuate the beauty within the architecture with concealed lighting effects to highlight the wood, stone, and coves. Brium – Éclairage Architectural worked with Lumentruss to bring the architecture to life.
