DesignLights Consortium Releases Technical Requirements Table V4

DesignLights Consortium Releases Technical Requirements Table V4

November 8, 2016

The new Technical Requirements Table V4.1 offers a new category (four pin-base replacement lamps for CFLs), and two new general applications: u-bend replacement lamps, and very high output outdoor lighting.

In addition to these expansions, there are three policy updates: revisions to the private labelling/multiple listing policy, clarifications on rated data for single product applications and family grouping applications, and adoption of ANSI C78.377-2015.

There are currently several technical requirement and policy development efforts under development. These will be released for comment in the coming months, pending discussions with the DLC Technical Committee:

  • hazardous location lighting
  • T5 replacement lamps
  • allowances
  • colour-tunable products
  • DC/PoE systems
  • clarifying the safety certification requirements
  • clarifying process for product updates

DesignLights Consortium is dedicated to accelerating the adoption of high-performing, energy efficient commercial lighting solutions. In collaboration with industry stakeholders, DLC defines high performance through technical requirements, facilitates thought leadership, and provides tools, resources, and technical expertise to members and industry.
