One of the biggest worries when people are travelling on holiday or vacation is the security and safety of their home. With Leviton’s expanded line of Decora Smart Wi-Fi sensors, dimmers and switches to control lighting combined with the Load Center to monitor energy usage, homeowners can view and control these applications anywhere and at any time using their mobile devices.

Gone are the days of setting cumbersome plug-in timers to control the ON/OFF for specific lights before leaving on vacation. With that method, timing would be the same day after day. This made it obvious that homeowners were away when specific lights would come on and off at the same time daily. Now homeowners can program and control their lighting using the My Leviton app with Leviton’s Decora Smart® family of products.

Leviton Decora Smart Group

Decora Smart switches and dimmers can fully automate lighting when and where it is needed and enable wireless control of lighting while at home or when away. Lighting controls can be scheduled based on specific times and even grouped into rooms. For plug-in lamps, such as desk lamps, table or floor lamps, the Decora Smart Wi-Fi Plug-in Dimmer can be connected to the My Leviton app and lights can be dimmed at any time and also customized for programmed scheduling. The My Leviton app allows an “away mode” with randomization which uses an algorithm to turn selected devices ON/OFF at many different times during the night. Think of all the possibilities, such as controlling lights at different times, inside and out.

In addition, homeowners can monitor energy consumption and detect if any loads need to be addressed through the Leviton Load Center and the My Leviton app. Leviton’s Load Center gives insight to energy usage through the My Leviton app, which can result in reducing utility bills, reducing electrical overloads and being informed of tripped circuits. Leviton’s extensive line of Load Center products include optional smart circuit breakers for all locations and applications. The Smart Circuit Breakers and LDATA (Smart Wi-Fi hub) are required to remotely access the Load Center’s advanced capabilities.
