The Appleton Contender low-profile LED luminaire by Emerson is a safe, economical solution for retrofitting a plant’s legacy HID lighting system to energy-efficient LED technology. Complementing Emerson’s existing family of industrial-grade LED fixtures, it provides the professional lighting market with more retrofit alternatives for hazardous locations, especially in challenging low clearance areas, such as walkways, catwalks, stairwells and tunnels where it delivers the lighting equivalent of 70W to 175W HID luminaires.

The Appleton Contender LED directly retrofits to legacy mounting hoods without an adapter, saving time and labor costs. With three lumen output options and four interchangeable and field replaceable globes options, this versatile luminaire offers a fully customized solution. It brings energy and maintenance savings of up to 65 percent over HID luminaires.

Industrial users can count on evenly-distributed, low-glare white light that’s ideal for a range of hazardous, adverse and corrosive lighting applications, from petrochemical plants and refinery settings to food and beverage processing, wastewater treatment, general manufacturing facilities, and more.

The Appleton Contender LED is NEC/CEC certified for hazardous locations rated Class I, Division 2 and Class I, Zone 2, Class II, Div 1 & 2, Zone 21 & 22, and Class III, as well as NEMA Type 3R, 4 and 4X wet locations and is IP 66/67 & ABS certified.
