IESNA Establishes Young Professionals Scholarship Fund

IESNA Scholarship

The Illuminating Engineering Society of North America is investing in tomorrow’s leaders through a new Young Professionals Scholarship Fund. The fund supports the attendance of students and emerging professionals at IES annual conferences. For the 2015 Annual Conference (November 8-10, 2015, Indianapolis, IN) applications must be received by no later than September 9, 2015.

A minimum of four US$1,000 awards — one from each of the Society’s Regions — of each will be granted each year to emerging professionals (individuals working in the lighting profession for five or fewer years) and students in their junior or senior year of undergraduate studies or enrolled in a graduate program. All awardees must be a member of the IES. The grant will offset some of the costs of travel and lodging; the conference fee will be waived.

Scholarships will be awarded to applicants who show evidence of a commitment to the lighting profession, leadership abilities, and potential for future involvement in the IES.
