Philips Hue Transforms Lighting Design with the Hue SpatialAware Feature That Understands Your Space

New Hue SpatialAware Feature Uses an Algorithm Across All the Philips Hue Lights in a Room to Create an Optimal Lighting Experience Tailored to Your Unique Environment

  • New Philips Hue feature allows you to enjoy light scenes in an entirely new way: Hue SpatialAware scenes let you transform entire rooms with effortless precision, making the Hue experience feel more natural and intuitive than ever before.
  • Hue SpatialAware uses an algorithm to distribute light scenes across all the Philips Hue lights in a room, so they all work together in harmony to create the most natural ambiance.

Signify is introducing Hue SpatialAware, which will transform how Philips Hue users experience light scenes. This feature analyzes the layout of your room and the placement of your Philips Hue lights to create the optimal lighting experience tailored to your unique environment. It’s like having a lighting designer in your pocket, allowing you to experience light scenes like never before.

Experience Light Scenes Like Never Before

Hue SpatialAware scenes enable you to bring nature into your home, recreating natural light settings with remarkable realism by understanding the position of each light. This results in lighting that feels more immersive, dynamic and true to life.

Currently, when using preset scenes from the Scene Gallery in the Hue app, colors are distributed without knowledge of their relative positions across the products in a room. With Hue SpatialAware scenes, colors are distributed intentionally across all the lights in the room to create the most natural representation.

This feature is a leap forward in intelligent home lighting design, moving beyond effects applied to individual products to lighting that adapts to your personal space. All Philips Hue light scenes are designed for spaces where people live, and this new feature offers an even more cohesive experience, transforming the smart home into a truly intelligent home.

Simply Scan Your Room – Voila!

The new feature is available to Bridge Pro users and is designed to be easy to use, with the Hue app guiding users through the entire process. By utilizing the latest Augmented Reality technologies, the camera on your smartphone or tablet scans your room to determine the position of each light, and the algorithm ensures the light scene is beautifully orchestrated across the room.

After the setup is complete, you can easily add more lights to your room at any time. The spatial model will be automatically enhanced when you rescan the updated area, allowing the light scenes to incorporate the new lights based on their positions.

Adding a New Dimension to Hue’s Scene Gallery

Hue SpatialAware is compatible with approximately half of the remastered light scenes available in the Scene Gallery. It is primarily designed to get the most out of nature-inspired scenes like Lake mist, Mountain breeze, Savanna sunset, and Lake placid.

In a SpatialAware enhanced room, light scenes feel much more immersive and lifelike. For a sunset scene, for example, the lamps on one side of the room show warm yellow tones to mimic the setting sun, while the ceiling lights on the opposite side are cast in darker shades.

Once Hue SpatialAware is released, the feature will be available to users visiting the Scene Gallery, allowing you to apply an optimized SpatialAware light scene or revert to the current mode.
