Cooper Lighting Solutions to Expand Industrial Lighting Portfolio with Nemalux

Cooper Lighting Solutions Commits to Canadian Acquisition - Nemalux

Nemalux Joins Cooper Lighting Solutions in New Representation Agreement

  • Planned acquisition of major hazardous location lighting business will extend Cooper Lighting Solutions portfolio for Canada, the US, and Mexico.
  • Nemalux specializes in hazardous location lighting solutions for industries including oil and gas, chemical processing, manufacturing, and other hazardous environments.

Signify has announced the intention to acquire Nemalux, a major manufacturer of industrial lighting solutions, focused on hazardous location fixtures. Nemalux will join the Cooper Lighting Solutions business, while maintaining its manufacturing base and headquarters in Canada.

Founded in Calgary in 2003, Nemalux has built an impressive portfolio of high-specification LED lighting solutions, certified for use in some of the most demanding industrial applications, including oil and gas, chemical processing, manufacturing, and other hazardous environments. Through expert design, customization, and application services, Nemalux helps customers solve complex industrial lighting challenges while improving safety and operational performance.

The company makes fixtures with different optics and mounting options, so they can be used in a variety of settings or for specific needs. This flexibility allows projects to choose lighting that fits the space or task at hand. Nemalux products are designed to be affordable at the outset and straightforward to install. Components can often be serviced or replaced as needed, which helps reduce ongoing maintenance costs.

The company offers help with lighting design and technical support from their engineering team. They focus on how lighting will actually perform in real sites, not just the product itself. Lights and parts are stocked in Canada, and the company typically manufactures to order. As a result, orders can often be fulfilled within a short timeframe. This acquisition will enhance Cooper Lighting Solutions’ industrial lighting portfolio, enabling it to better serve customers with comprehensive solutions in these important industries.

“We are thrilled that Nemalux is joining Signify. With its demonstrated success, established reputation and consistent high performance, we will be adding a very talented team and a highly competitive offering to drive harsh and hazardous lighting growth in the attractive North American market,” said Kraig Kasler, President of Cooper Lighting Solutions.

The acquisition is expected to close by the fourth quarter of 2025, subject to certain conditions.
