As part of BJ Take’s commitment to providing the best possible lighting solutions and greatest energy efficiencies, the company partnered with Nedap on a LEED certified project featured in an industry whitepaper.

Challenger, one of Canada’s largest privately-owned transportation and logistics companies looked to acquire LEED certification when they were designing and developing their new headquarters. Part of the requirement for this process is providing energy-efficient lighting. Collectively BJ Take and Nedap developed a solution combining intelligent LED luminaires and a state-of-the-art automation system. This unique solution for large manufacturing, big box retail, arenas, and warehouse environments provided immediate annual energy savings of 24.2% since installation and a 71% average savings when compared to the previous lighting system.

Doug Wilson, Vice-President of Sales for BJ Take said that “the key to optimizing the efficiency was replacing the old HID and fluorescent fixtures with high-performance high bay luminaires that are intelligent, as they work seamlessly with an application-based lighting management system. This provides the opportunity to maximize the efficacy of the solution by working with the buildings natural light sources, which also prolongs the longevity of the fixture”.
