January 21, 2019

Legrand, North and Central America has acquired Kenall, a leading manufacturer of innovative, energy efficient and sustainable specification grade lighting and control solutions for commercial, industrial and institutional buildings. Adding Kenall to its portfolio enables Legrand to participate in additional market segments.

Since its founding over 55 years ago, Kenall has become a clear leader in the specialty lighting segment, providing intelligent, durable and sustainable lighting solutions for high abuse environments such as hospitals, schools, public building, food processing, transportation and correctional facilities.

“We’ve seen tremendous growth in the specialty and architectural lighting segments through commercial, industrial and institutional channels,” says LNCA President & CEO, John Selldorff. “Kenall’s unique products, customer focus, and innovative technology align perfectly with Legrand’s strategic market approach.”

“Kenall, as part of Legrand, will continue to offer expertise in specification-driven markets with stringent requirements, while also meeting shorter lead-times for our customers, ensuring exceptional quality and performance, as well as a willingness to support modifications and customization,” says Jim Hawkins, Chairman & CEO of Kenall.
