DesignLights Consortium Offers Webinar on Working Group Findings and Next Steps for DLC Energy Reporting Requirements and Guidelines

LDS 22 CS DLC 400

July 6, 2022

In advance of publication of a new energy reporting whitepaper, the DesignLights Consortium (DLC) will host a July 13 webinar to present the results of an Energy Reporting Working Group convened last year and discuss consequent next steps for DLC energy reporting requirements and guidelines.

The DLC requires energy monitoring capability (with an exception for room-based systems) for manufacturers seeking to qualify systems for its Networked Lighting Controls (NLC) Qualified Products List. The Energy Reporting Working Group, comprising DLC energy efficiency program members and industry partners, was established in 2021 to explore how the DLC could support standardization of NLC energy reports. The group’s charge included creating a more detailed and standardized energy reporting template that is acceptable to all DLC member efficiency programs and is harmonized, as feasible, with newly published industry standards for energy reporting (ANSI C137.5-2021 and C137.6-2021). The upcoming DLC whitepaper, “DLC Energy Reporting Update”, builds on the Working Group’s discussions and findings.

Scheduled for 1 p.m. ET/ 10 a.m. PT on Wednesday, July 13, the DLC Energy Reporting Update webinar will cover:

  • What’s next for DLC energy reporting requirements and guidelines;
  • Relevant standards recently developed and now in development; and
  • How future revisions of DLC Technical Requirements could affect future development of NLC products and efficiency programs.
