Synapse Wireless Alters Focus on Healthcare Business

Synapse Wireless is refocusing its business due to market conditions to pull away from healthcare and focus more on solar, lighting, retail, and food service markets. Reports suggest that the move will result in 25 layoffs. A spokesperson from the company said that despite the move, healthcare remains an important focus for the company.

Five of the 25 employees will be interviewing for other positions in the company. The move is more inline with smart lighting industry.

“Synapse’s employees are our most valuable asset and any decision that impacts our workforce is not taken lightly,” company spokesperson Megan Nivens told an Alabama publication, AL.com. “But change in our business is inevitable. By adapting to it, Synapse will continue to grow and evolve as a leader in the dynamic Internet of Things (IoT) space. And as we do, we remain dedicated to our mission, our customers and surrounding community.”
