GE Current, a Daintree company, has named Carla Bukalski, PE, LC, LEED AP, its Director of Specification following a search for highly talented individuals with a mind for lighting inspiration and innovation.

“As Current expands into the specification market, it is energetic leadership that helps us engage the design community,” says Chip Taylor, chief commercial officer, GE Current. “Carla’s passion for cultivating relationships and results is undeniable, and her strong technical acumen gives customers an excellent base for understanding today’s LED lighting and controls technologies.”

Carla joins Current with 25 years of specification industry experience including tenures with Cooper Lighting Solutions as regional specification sales manager, as well as Osram Sylvania where she served as a specification engineer. In her new role, Carla’s focus turns to continued product development and go-to-market strategies for Current’s fast-growing specification product line.

A rich and diverse background, including a decade and a half as a lighting designer and electrical engineer, gives Carla a unique perspective and allows for better collaboration with lighting professionals to bring ideas to life. Her ability to interpret the voice of the customer will be instrumental to Current’s efforts to build a standout product suite tailored to specifiers.

Carla earned her architectural engineering degree from the University of Kansas, holds a Professional Engineering license, is Lighting Certified by the National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions (NCQLP), and is a LEED Accredited Professional. She also maintains a high level of involvement in the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD), among other industry organizations.
