Lind Equipment Wins Norwegian Military Contract for Expedition Tactical Lighting System

LDS Lind Military 400

August 6, 2020

Lind Equipment has been awarded a contract to supply the Norwegian military with its patented Expedition Tactical Lighting System (“ETLS”). This contract allows Norway to standardize its shelter lighting on Lind Equipment’s innovative ETLS, providing troops with a state-of-the-art system to assist them in deployment anywhere.

This project underscores the Expedition Tactical Lighting Solution as the most advanced shelter lighting system for NATO allies. Lind Equipment’s ETLS is currently deployed in the field for not only the Norwegian Forsvaret, but also for divisions of the Canadian Armed Forces and the United States Armed Forces. The ETLS provides clear LED lighting that includes an EMI hardened, waterproof, centrally controllable system.

In addition to these requirements, the Norwegian Forsvaret was in search of a shelter light that had an emergency lighting mode that would last 15 minutes after power was cut. Like many other armed forces, the Forsvaret did not want this emergency lighting mode to use conventional batteries that require replacement and maintenance. Lind Equipment’s ETLS system has a patented emergency mode that will continue to provide light for shelters for up to 15 minutes using advanced supercapacitors. This unique system charges and holds power without using any toxic chemicals commonly found in batteries and is a more reliable system with a larger power storage than a traditional back-up battery.

Lind Equipment was able to win this project while up against global competition, which highlights the world-beating technology embodied in the Expedition Tactical Lighting System.
