Darc Decorative Award Deadline: March 15

March 3, 2018

The international Darc awards, celebrating lighting design, are peer determined: one designer, one vote.

All the projects and the companies that have submitted them will be present on the online Darc directory with the intent that the Darc awards website becomes a comprehensive online lighting design resource that can be used by designers and clients. Shown in photo: a retail project for Hunke Jewellers and Opticians in Ludwigsburg, Germany. Lighting design: pfarré. Decorative lighting suppliers: DGA, Rentex, CTO Lighting, Martine Clair, Erco, Korona, Barthelme, Alurays, Belitz, Flos, and Xal.

Award categories, for the best use of decorative lighting, include the following:

  • Live — residential project
  • Work — workplace project
  • Rest — hotel project
  • Play — bar or restaurant project
  • Shop — retail project
  • Bespoke — bespoke fixture
  • Ceiling — decorative pendant or chandelier
  • Wall — decorative wall fixture
  • Floor — decorative floor standing fixture
  • Table — table standing fixture
  • Decorative — exterior fixture
  • Source — lamp for decorative fixtures

Darc strongly recommends that the principal lighting designer, interior designer or architect responsible for the lighting scheme enters a project category. Manufacturers are advised to enter the product categories or, if entering a project, to credit the designers and any other manufacturers involved.

The awards will be presented in London on May 31.
