IES Offers New “Indispensable Lighting” Webinar Series

This new webinar program is designed to give members, educators and the general public access to information about quality lighting. The video recordings in the series can be used for IES section meetings, as an instructional supplement for introductory lighting courses in post-secondary settings, and for anyone interested in knowing more about lighting.

In the “Indispensable Lighting” series so far:

  • Lights of the Round: Parts 1 and 2 — The Players in Lighting Specifications
  • Lights of the Round: Part 2 — The Players in Lighting Specifications
  • Architecture for Light: Part 1 — Heirloom Ideas, Modern Semantics and Current Realizations
  • Architecture for Light: Part 2 — Lighting Design in the Era of Energy Codes

Lights of the Round features a group of industry leaders who represent many facets of the lighting industry, including architects, distributors, engineers, lighting designers, lighting controls specialists, and lighting manufacturers. They discuss the lighting design process, how best to improve the process, how best to interact with the other trades, and other pertinent lighting industry topics.

This two-part 2.5 hour presentation was co-produced by the IES, AIA, and IALD. It is a useful learning tool for IES section events, IES emerging professionals, post-secondary institutions and for viewing independently by anyone new to the lighting industry in any of its wonderful facets: www.ies.org/education/electronic-resources/indispensable-lighting-series/
