CLE 2025: Sparking New Ideas, Collaborations & Partnerships That Will Continue Shaping the Future of the Canadian Lighting Industry

2025 has been a year full of major events and changes, both in Canada and abroad, creating new opportunities for partnerships, solutions and market growth. In regards to the Canadian lighting industry, Canada Light Expo (CLE) 2025 witnessed a landmark gathering of the lighting industry, as it returned for its highly anticipated second edition that was held from 12–13 November 2025 at the International Centre, Toronto. Organized by MEX International Inc., the event provided the region’s most comprehensive lighting trade fair, that brought together top brands, industry leaders, and the latest innovations shaping the future of lighting.

As Canada’s principal B2B platform dedicated entirely to the lighting industry, the 2025 edition featured more than 80 leading brands and 1,000+ innovative products, that spanned from architectural, landscape, smart, energy-efficient, human-centric, horticultural, and decorative lighting solutions. Visitors were able to witness just how design, technology, and sustainability are transforming the lighting landscape, reflecting Canada’s growing commitment to energy efficiency and sustainable infrastructure.

Having attended this year, the Canada Light Expo proved to be a dynamic event. By bringing the Canadian lighting community together, the organizers provided an engaging opportunity for industry leaders, manufacturers, designers, specifiers, contractors and end users to build towards further innovations and collaborations.

Canada Light Talks was the major conference and panel discussion series at the heart of the Canada Light Expo, offering a unique platform to explore the future of the lighting industry. The sessions provided beneficial insights into the latest advancements, emerging trends, and current industry challenges, and visitors had two days’ worth of thought-provoking discussions led by established industry experts, innovators, and thought leaders with such keynotes and discussions including:

This dynamic event enabled visitors to engage with industry professionals ranging in a variety of specialized fields and facilitated meaningful discussion and pursuit of greater innovation and lighting advancements. In this way, Canada Light Talks provides the ideal destination for anyone looking to deepen their knowledge, stay ahead of industry developments, and network with key players.


Community Building & Collaborations

In bringing together such a vast gathering of industry professionals in lighting and electrical solutions, Canada Light Expo helps build a more connected and engaged lighting community. Advancing towards more allied partnerships and establishing deeper connections across Canada enables greater growth and development, stronger supply chain resilience and industry success.  

Canada Light Expo 2025 featured exhibitors from such names as Axis, Cree Lighting, Salex, Omnilumen, Metalumen, TPL, Ledvance, Amico, Satco, Liteline, Dainolite, Leviton, Magic Lite, Zilux, Arkalumen, Peerless Electric, JDRF Electromag, Barbican and Artika Pro just to name a few. Showcasing inspiring products and lighting solutions, the exhibition floor was a trove of offerings that provided a sensory and educational experience at every booth along the way.

Participating associations at the event included Lighting Agora, NLB, Nuckolls Fund, IALD Canada, IES Toronto Section, International Commission on Illumination (CNC-CIE), WILD, NEMRA Lighting, ARIDO, and WIL. Additional prominent industry associations comprising RAIC|IRAC, OSEA, CSLA, OALA, and ALA also supported the show. Media partners included CC&R, Designing Lighting, Light Now, Light Directory, Arc Magazine, and Kerwill LDS.


Building Towards a Bigger Expo for 2026

With the success of the 2025 edition, next year’s event is poised to be even larger in scale due to the impressive gathering and reception. Canada Light Expo 2025 brought together the lighting community for a dynamic and inspiring experience, sparking new ideas, collaborations, and partnerships that will continue shaping the future of the Canadian lighting industry. I look forward to discovering what next year’s 2026 edition will have in store for Canada’s lighting community, with dates for 2026 confirmed for November 18-19 to return to the International Centre, Toronto.
