LEDVANCE global CEO Lawrence Lin (right in photo) is assuming managing director responsibilities for the United States and Canada, on an interim basis, in addition to his current responsibilities. The change follows the departure of Jim Johnso (left in photo), who previously held the position, earlier this month.

“I am grateful and appreciative of the support that has been provided to me over the past year by the team,” says Johnson, “and I consider it a privilege to have had the opportunity to work with such a great team.”

LEDVANCE continues to evolve to deliver innovative lighting products, ensure the best customer satisfaction, and set the stage for future success, says Lin. “I’m looking forward to working even more closely with the team in the United States and Canada to continue to prove to our customers that LEDVANCE is the right partner for their needs… Jim Johnson has made a valuable contribution in moving us forward and for that I am very thankful. I wish him all the best for the future.”

One area where LEDVANCE is advancing light is in the area of smart lighting. The company has recently expanded its portfolio of easy-to-use Sylvania Smart+ Bluetooth lighting to benefit Android users in the US. Now, new Sylvania Smart+ Bluetooth LED lighting products work with the Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa via the new Sylvania Smart Home app on Google Play, providing hands-free lighting control for Android users without requiring any additional hardware.

In addition, the company is growing its popular line of consumer and professional LED luminaires and its wide portfolio of LED general lighting products. These new innovations will be unveiled for the marketplace at the Lightfair trade show in May.
