Lumenpulse Inc., the parent company of the Lumenpulse Group is pleased to announce that its shareholders have approved the previously-announced statutory plan of arrangement under the provisions of the Canada Business Corporations Act involving the Company and 10191051 Canada Inc.

The STL Lighting Group welcomes Stephanie Irwin as Account Manager. Together with her colleagues, Tricia Besserer and Forrest Jones, Stephanie’s will expand STL’s presence in the GTA lighting market.

Vancouver International Airport (YVR) has installed of a new state-of-the-art LED lighting system to its airfield, leveraging incentives from BC Hydro. The new lighting system by Musco Lighting significantly reduces YVR’s power consumption, expands lighting coverage and increases safety for pilots, air traffic controllers and ground crews.

LEDVANCE has committed to the Clean Energy Ministerial Global Lighting Challenge (GLC). During the eighth Clean Energy Ministerial Summit (CEM8) in Beijing, LEDVANCE announced its commitment to selling 2.5 billion energy efficient LED Lamps by 2023.

Light brightness is measured in lumens, which is a rating of the amount of light emitted, as opposed to wattage, which defines the amount of energy used while emitting the light. LED lights are so energy-efficient that we can no longer rely upon wattage levels to indicate a light’s brightness.

Standard’s photometric data files (IES files) have been updated and optimized and are now available on Instabase (the photometric search engine by Lighting Analyst). This is a cloud delivery mechanism containing luminaire photometric data from many of the lighting industry’s most prominent manufacturers available from within AGi32 and Photometric Toolbox dedicated cloud environment.

New technical requirements for Interior and Exterior Networked Lighting Control (NLC) systems associated with commercial and industrial buildings, roadways, and exterior environments are here. NLC systems are defined for the purposes of these requirements as the combination of sensors, network interfaces, and controllers that effect lighting changes to luminaires, but does not include the luminaires themselves.

A new study from the Lighting Research Center (LRC) at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute found that office workers who receive a robust dose of circadian-effective light in the morning, from electric lighting or daylight, experience better sleep and lower levels of depression and stress, than those who spend their mornings in dim or low light levels.

The Richard Kelly Grant was established by the New York Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society in 1980. Originally conceived as a scholarship program and later opened to young persons working in lighting in North America, the Grant is administered by the New York Section under the auspices of the IES.

LED luminaires present new challenges for those maintaining outdoor- and roadway-lighting systems. In other luminaire types, maintenance crews often clean the luminaires when they do a bulk or single relamp (Illuminating Engineering Society of Australia and New Zealand (2012)), so the lamp life drives the cleaning schedule.
