President of RAB Design, Irwin Beron, has Retired

Irwin Beron

September 20, 2017

RAB Design has announced the retirement of President, Irwin Beron.  After 50 years in the lighting industry, Irwin has decided to step down as President and hand over the reins to his eldest son, David Beron.  David will assume the position of President, effective immediately.  Irwin will remain on as Chairman, which will allow him to enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation with his lovely wife Lynette and seven grandchildren, yet still free to impart his many years of experience and expertise whenever possible as Chairman of RAB Design.

Irwin has been serving as President of RAB Design Lighting since 2002.  He acquired the company during a difficult period and through grit, determination and hard work, turned it around to make it one of Canada’s most respected lighting companies. His commitment to delivering quality products and always placing customer needs first, has led to continual, annual, double digit growth for RAB Design.

“It’s been an incredible journey and I am honored to have been a part of RAB Design’s growth story,” Irwin said.  “I am very proud of our team at RAB Design and our sales agency network who have worked tirelessly to exceed expectations. I am forever indebted to our customers who have trusted and supported the RAB Design brand over the years. I have no doubt the company is poised to grow bigger and brighter in the years to come under David’s leadership.”

David Beron has held the title of Vice President of Market Operations at RAB Design since 2008 and has over 20 years of technology experience managing complex projects in diverse environments, spanning North America, Australia and Asia.

David holds a degree in Electrical Engineering, is certified as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) and holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).  His background in technology and product innovation with Nortel Networks, Moneris and TELUS Communications has fuelled his ingenuity towards enhancing Canada’s lighting industry.  David has quickly become a valued resource and industry expert; driving sales, building RAB Design’s sales force and developing best in class manufacturing processes leading RAB Design to launch a range of new LED products into the Canadian Market.

“My father has been a strong leader and has laid a foundation of exceptional core values, honesty and an un-wavering commitment to our valued customers and cherished staff that is second to none,” David said.   “It is my commitment that those values will never change.”
