Global Market Leaders meet Global Demand for Safety Technology at Light + Building

The importance of safety-related systems is increasing – worldwide. Because to achieve security, individuals, institutions or buildings must always meet new standards. In 2020, the Light + Building “Networked Security” is becoming a focus topic. The platform Intersec Building, a congress format and a special interest guide promote exchange, information and navigation.

Yesterday still defined thick door leaves, lockable window handles and steel strong vault walls the standard. That’s not enough today. Also, because worthy of protection is no longer exclusively material. Networks or data streams are immaterial, albeit of inestimable value. Especially when trying to calculate maximum amounts of damage, it becomes clear that in the future security will have to include even more strategies for protecting digital infrastructure.

However, digital protection means much more than just the protection of zeroes and ones. Surveillance, access control or data protection are equally essential. Especially when safety-related facilities are networked with each other and with the entire building technology. This makes electronic safety technology an integral part of Smart Home and Smart Building.

The better all safety-relevant components interoperate with each other, the higher their joint efficiency. The same applies to the networking of safety-related installations with all other building services installations. Interfaces, standards, planning and integration are therefore key influencing factors. Experts find a collective base at the world’s largest trade fair for electrical building infrastructure.

As a central concern of industry and users, “Networked Security” at Light + Building in March 2020 will occupy a prominent position within the top topic of “Connecting”. The navigation to security-specific offers guarantees an exclusive guide. Not only are all providers of security technology listed here and located within the trade fair, but also specific offers are described and scheduled. “Networked security is an integral part of the technical building infrastructure. This is another reason why it is part of the product portfolio of a whole range of exhibitors at Light + Building. At the same time, we condense safety-related offerings and know-how with a few hotspots “, says Iris Jeglitza-Moshage.

As part of Light + Building, Intersec Building builds bridges between knowledge and practice with international security market leaders such as ABI Security Systems, ABUS, Gretsch-Unitas, Hikvision or Mobotix. In addition, safety technology for Light + Building can be found in many other halls as an integrated offering.

Karsten Nölling, chairman of the board of KIWI – another exhibitor of safety-related systems – underlines the importance of the range of services: “For networked security, we are still on day one today. There are many good systems, but mostly designed as stand-alone solutions for individual applications. These included alarm systems as well as electronic locking systems. Over the next few years, we will increasingly see links between systems here – especially across providers. Intersec Building has recognized the trend of networking products and processes at an early stage and is consistently expanding it. “

The conference will be held in Hall 9.1 as the central information interface for the special interest offer. It focuses on networked safety technology in building automation. Most recently at the ISH, the meanwhile fourth conference in 2019 offered two intensive conference days with expert lectures and discussions. A total of 320 participants from the planning, installation and operation of networked safety systems used the opportunity for information and professional exchange with manufacturers, developers and researchers.
