Viso, Light is Life . . . and Green

Viso Lighting

Viso was founded in the late 1990’s by Filipe Lisboa, CEO and lead designer, in Leiria, Portugal. Filipe has a unique approach to design that he has coupled with the company’s innovative manufacturing process. The success of the Viso led Filipe to relocate the company’s headquarters to Toronto, Ontario in 2006 to service the booming North American Market. Since the move the company has seen significant growth, both locally in Canada and internationally.

In 2015, Lisboa and Managing Director, Tzetzy Naydenova, finalized a buyout that provided them with 100% interest in the brand. The successful buyout has allowed the company’s design, production, manufacturing and marketing to grow the lighting company. Their focus on quality and safe lighting, and the strong relationships they have made with partners, suppliers, clients and their employees have advanced the company’s success and stronghold in Toronto.

Viso’s mission statement is ‘Light is life’ and following this theme Viso strives to develop dramatic atmospheres through decorative lighting and to transform your visions into reality. Their attention to detail and unique brand has placed them at the centre of notable projects throughout Canada, including numerous restaurants, bars and retail spaces, as well as the Tim Horton’s Global Corporate office and Canadian Consulate in Britain, and in the US Saks Fifth Avenue, MGM Las Vegas, LAX and JFK airports and the Audi Corporate headquarters.

Viso’s designers work alongside customers to design architecturally pleasing lighting that lives up to your vision, while also maintaining a core directive toward the use of sustainable and environmentally friendly lighting. Viso utilizes LED sources in all their light fixtures as they recognize that the industry is moving towards solely LED technology for lighting. They work with clients to ensure that their sustainability goals are met while still providing advanced architectural lighting options.

Viso is also highly focused on recycling efforts and has set the goal to achieve a 100% green supply chain. Viso has implemented and continues to move forward with the ISO 9000 quality management system that reduces unnecessary steps and materials in the production process that increases the overall sustainability of their products.
