The DLC is pleased to release the following draft update to the Technical Requirements for Horticultural Lighting as Version 2.1.

Design, texture, mood, body and function – the key factors with which luminaires, lighting components, electrical technology and house and building automation influenced the judges were many, varied and, in some cases, surprising.

Bringing the lighting community together to share ideas and innovations that move our industry forward is central to LightFair’s vision. In light of this year’s events, Lightfair is revisiting every aspect of LightFair 2021 with a “safety first” lens.

F4P has been involved with multiple charitable organizations for the past several years to help give hope and wishes to those most in need.

The IES Vancouver Section is offering the Fundamentals of Lighting Course as a 6-session course on Tuesdays & Thursdays, beginning October 20th until November 5th, 2020.  The exam will be held on November 10th. The course will be held ONLINE. Class times will be from  5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  

Leviton announced that Jean Belhumeur, president and chief of operations of Leviton Canada, will retire effective December 31, 2020. Belhumeur has held several roles throughout his 26-year involvement with Leviton Canada, and his efforts have helped the organization evolve to be highly respected in the electrical industry.

The Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and the International Well Building Institute (IWBI) are pleased to announce a memorandum of understanding enabling future collaboration to improve the quality of our indoor environments through improved lighting design.

Because of NCQLP’s concern for the well-being of all approved Candidates who plan to take the LC Examination in 2020, NCQLP is pleased to announce that arrangements have been made with PSI, NCQLP’s professional testing service, to enable Candidates to take the Examination online at over 600 predetermined sites, being offered by PSI for this purpose instead of the Paper and Pencil format.
